O.J. Simpson – a free man

It’s hard to believe it has been 22 years since the trial of the century and the O.J. Simpson “not guilty” verdict. Near that anniversary, next week O.J. goes home after getting hammered for the robbery charges involving “his” former property. Many believe, as do I, that had it not been for the first trial with the public believing “he did it” and that O.J. Simpson “got away with it”, that he would have received a much lighter sentence in case number two. There are so many lessons to be learned. In no particular order: When the police lie and tamper with evidence the prosecution should not prevail. You just can’t have that in our system of justice. Regardless of the truth, lives were lost and families remain devastated decades later. When the guilty go free, it sucks. Speaking of guilty, I always had an issue with the lack of blood evidence given the severity of the stabbings. Public opinion seems to be 50-50 or so on guilt or innocence, I think. So, did O.J. do it or not and what will he do with his life? Many don’t care but since those of us who are in the 40’s and 50’s age range can still remember where we were when the chase was on and when the jurors spoke it is more than noteworthy. It was indeed the trial of the century and for many of the wrong reasons. Just sayin….
